Our Services
Diabetic Eye Services
Diabetic retinopathy is a retinal disease caused by the effect of diabetes on the blood vessels, causing a leakage of protein and bleeding. This occurs more frequently in diabetics with poorly-controlled blood glucose levels. This is worsened if it is coupled with hypertension and raised lipid levels in the blood. In severe cases, diabetic retinopathy can lead to vision loss.
It is important for diabetics to have their eyes checked at least every six-monthly. At Dr Goh Eye Clinic, diabetics' eyes are screened using a retinal photograph with an accompanying report for their General Practitioner to co-manage the diabetic condition of the patient.
