Lazy Eyes
Lazy eyes do not look abnormal or defective; in fact they are normal looking eyes that do not function (hence the term “lazy eyes”). They arise when children with refractive errors (like short sightedness or myopia) or squints are not corrected when they are young. Such treatment are most effective in children less than six years old.
The treatment for “lazy eye” involves patching the good eye for a certain number of hours per day to force the “lazy eye” to work.
