Many diseases of the eye and the brain cause visual deficits that can be improved through rehabilitation. Each consultation involves a detailed assessment and tests of the patient’s eye components, before a specially-tailored rehabilitation programme is drawn up to maximize the use of his residual function. In 2012, our clinic collaborated with Universitatsklinikum Tubingen (UKT), Germany, to offer a visual restitution therapy programme in Asia. Termed the “ Visiocoach programme” , this therapy aims to teach stroke patients to re-ignite their lost vision using a visual explorative saccadic training software

What help is there for patients with impaired vision?

Low vision patients have benefited from various aids and techniques used to enhance their vision .Visual aids such as magnification with optical or electronic aids and the use of eccentric fixation and specific reading techniques have helped our low vision patients regain some functional vision, such as in reading or walking. This greatly helps to improve their quality of life.
